Not gonna downplay how important this afternoon’s recording project is to me. Just after my dad’s funeral, one of the first things I did to try to pick my family back up was take them all to a popular Corpus Christi beach vacation spot my dad used to bring the family. Driving I-37, finding myself inspired, I began writing my next original, “Beaches of Balli Park,” aka: “The Bob Hall Pier Song.” Originally built in 1950, enjoyed by vacationing families from all over, the pier was directly hit by Hurricane Hanna in July 2020 & forced closed. There’s lots of anticipation for its reconstruction & reopening & it will be my personal contribution to create an anthem for the North Padre Island, Padre Balli Park Beach Community that will illustrate the magic of this cherished spot visited by so many vacationing families like mine & many fishermen for 7 decades.
